Warranty Terms

Coffs Metal Works — Warranty Terms (Australia‑Compliant)

1. Overview

Coffs Metal Works (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides warranty coverage in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). These terms outline what is covered, what is excluded, and how customers can make a warranty claim.

2. Australian Consumer Law Rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. Customers are entitled to a remedy if a product:

  • has a major failure, or
  • is not of acceptable quality,
  • does not match the description, or
  • is not fit for purpose.

For major failures, customers may choose a refund or replacement. For minor failures, we will provide a repair, replacement, or other appropriate remedy.

3. Warranty Coverage

Coffs Metal Works provides a 12‑month warranty on:

  • Trailer components
  • Fabricated parts
  • Suspension items
  • Genuine CMW branded products

Coverage applies to defects in materials, workmanship, or manufacturing under normal use.

4. What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by incorrect installation
  • Misuse, abuse, or overloading
  • Modifications or alterations
  • Corrosion caused by environmental exposure
  • Damage caused by accidents or impact
  • Improper maintenance or neglect
  • Use outside intended purpose
  • Non‑CMW branded products (covered by manufacturer warranty only)

Consumable items (e.g., bearings, brake pads, seals, lights) are not covered unless faulty at time of purchase.

5. Proof of Purchase

A valid proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. Acceptable forms include:

  • Tax invoice
  • Receipt
  • Online order confirmation

6. Warranty Claim Process

To lodge a warranty claim, customers must contact us with:

  • Order or invoice number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos or videos of the fault
  • Any relevant installation or usage details

We may request the item be returned for inspection. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.

7. Assessment & Remedies

Once assessed, we will determine the appropriate remedy under ACL:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund (major failure only)

If the product is found not to be faulty, the customer may be responsible for return freight costs.

8. Freight & Shipping for Warranty Claims

  • If the product is confirmed faulty, Coffs Metal Works covers return shipping.
  • If no fault is found, or the issue is due to misuse or incorrect installation, the customer covers shipping costs.

9. Third‑Party & Supplier Products

Products manufactured by third‑party suppliers (e.g., Wolf Pack Marine, OEM components) are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Coffs Metal Works will assist with the claim process where possible.

10. Custom Fabrication Warranty

Custom‑made trailers, parts, or modifications are covered for defects in workmanship only. Warranty does not apply to:

  • customer‑supplied designs that fail under load,
  • incorrect measurements provided by the customer,
  • custom items used outside their intended purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Coffs Metal Works is not liable for:

  • consequential or indirect losses,
  • freight delays,
  • installation errors,
  • damage caused by third‑party products or services.

This clause does not limit your rights under the ACL.
