Protect your trailer wheel bearings from water and contamination with this premium 45mm Stainless Steel Bearing Protector. Commonly known as a Bearing Buddy, this spring-loaded bearing protector maintains constant grease pressure inside the hub, helping prevent water, dust and dirt from entering while extending bearing life. It is ideal for trailers that are frequently immersed in water, including boat trailers.
Manufactured entirely from stainless steel, this heavy-duty bearing protector offers significantly better corrosion resistance than chrome-plated alternatives. The integrated grease nipple allows fresh grease to be added without removing the protector, while the spring-loaded piston automatically maintains positive pressure inside the hub as temperatures change.
Designed to suit 45mm trailer hubs using LM (Holden) and SL Slimline (Ford) bearing combinations, this bearing protector is ideal for boat trailers, caravans, camper trailers, box trailers and many general-purpose trailers operating in harsh Australian conditions.

Before installation, remove the existing dust cap and ensure the hub bore is clean and free from damage. Fill the bearing protector gradually with high-quality wheel bearing grease until the spring-loaded piston begins to move outward—avoid overfilling, as excessive grease pressure can damage the rear grease seal. Always confirm your hub dust cap diameter is 45mm before ordering.
